MALI
Original Bogolan – Mud Cloth

Bogolan – Mud Cloth
These traditional fabrics are hand-spun cotton woven on simple looms in strips. The individual strips are sewn together and then painted with plant and earth colors.
The individual designs tell whole stories. Each pattern has a specific meaning.
Since these fabrics are painted exclusively with natural colors, they should not be washed. In the dry-cleaning, however, they are very beautiful.
Unfortunately, you can now find fakes from India on the market, which are of course cheaper, but not of the same quality have, like the originals from Mali. It is also important to me to support local handicrafts and artists with my trade. The living conditions in Mali are currently extremely difficult.

Bogolan – Mud Cloth
