This is an exceptional early Noritake 19-piece tea or dessert service. It is comprised of pieces from two complementary luster ware (lustre ware) patterns produced at the same time in the early 20th century. The tea service and snack plate/cup sets are in pattern N1312 (pearly white luster with orange luster band and black trim.) There are also four serving pieces in pattern N2894 (pearly white luster with orange luster band, floral medallions and black trim.) All pieces are hand-painted and have the same green, M-in-wreath Noritake backstamp. The N2894 serving pieces are likely from the 'teens (discontinued 1921.) The N1312 pieces were made at the same time, though had continued production through the 1920s.

Overall, the pieces are in excellent condition, especially considering their age. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs present. The opalescent luster of the snack plates and cups is particularly good, though has dulled slightly in some of the other pieces. Their combined effect remains quite beautiful.
